On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June, The Chartwell Cancer Trust in collaboration with the House of Hygge Café, and Quirky Pop up in Acre Lane, Brixton held a Summer Street Fair to celebrate Windrush Day. It was a fantastic weekend full of bric-a-brac and handicraft stalls outside for the local community to browse and purchase from. There was plenty of entertainment for our young visitors including a children’s entertainer, face painting and games. There was also a raffle. Thank you to everyone who dropped by to show their support.

Play Specialist, Simii Dhupar, is delighted with the new Hurricane tube especially for the Toni & Guy Ward. The tube creates a sensory zone and a calming atmosphere for patients of any age and can be moved easily between the playroom and cubicles whenever it is needed. Simii said: “Thank you so much for providing us with a Hurricane tube. It is so very beneficial and helps to calm the children down, when they are having to go through sometimes incredibly traumatic admissions and procedures.”
