The CCT King’s Teens Cancer Support Group got together in February Half Term to attend a very creative Art Workshop, hosted by local artist and friend Bea Bonifini. Bea wanted everyone to really express themselves through fashion and art. To get their artistic juices flowing, she gave them a tour of the local art gallery where she is also exhibiting some of her work. They then made their way upstairs above the charity shop to the beautiful light and airy yoga studio, perfect for brain-storming, drawing and spreading out the designs.
Group Co-ordinator, Michelle Simpson, was the designated model for the day (not quite what she had planned but lots of fun!) and the Group were tasked with ‘dressing and drawing’ her, the props such as scarfs and materials were borrowed from the charity shop downstairs. With Bea’s help and by using several different techniques to create various textures and layers, the masterpieces began to unfold and the drawings came to life. It was exciting to see all the creations come together in the end. Afterwards, the group sat down to a delicious lunch and a de-brief downstairs in the House of Hygge coffee shop. It was a wonderful afternoon, full of fun, which was enjoyed by all.
Thank you to Bea for giving up her time to organise such a fantastic workshop and to supporters Stillpoint Yoga for allowing us free use of their studio.
